MEDIUM VAN HIRE

Medium vans offer exceptional versatility and ample cargo space, making them a top rental choice. A short wheelbase Ford Transit (or similar) provides a load length of approximately 2.4m, comfortably accommodating 8-foot timber and standard 8x4 plasterboard sheets. With a minimum headroom of 1.4m (or more in high-roof models), some larger items can be transported upright.

These vans can also hold numerous removal boxes (depending on size and stacking). For furniture moves, a medium van is often sufficient for dining tables (up to 8ft), most wardrobes, sideboards, dressers, mattresses, and bed frames. While two armchairs or potentially one sofa might fit, it's crucial to check sofa dimensions, as some can be too large for a medium van.

Fuel consumption is good too, with modern turbo-diesel engines providing fuel economy in the 35-40mpg range. These models are car-like to drive and are often fitted with a decent selection of creature comforts, such as electric windows, aircon and sometimes even infotainment systems.
